  • Verifies equipment is in good working condition.
  • Assists in the training of new employees.
  • Provides suggestions to improve process, procedures and department in support of company goals.
  • Follows Company, GMP and Safety policies to ensure compliance.
  • Follows all food safety principles and legal requirements.
  • Maintains a positive and constructive work environment within the department as well as with the other departments and promotes teamwork.
  • Maintain the work area clean.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:  The Continuous Improvement Coordinator will lead the continuous improvement process, responsible for performing the analysis of all processes and determining opportunities for improvement. The incumbent will lead improvements efforts through proven CI / Lean / TPM tools. In addition, will be responsible for leveraging processes and executing process overhaul and/or upgrade programs for the organization. The incumbent must be a change catalyst with strong communication and time management skills.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead CI implementation across the entire site.  Will need to be capable of coaching all leadership team members through system ownership, can coach and train CI process down to the floor level.

  • Preferred 2-5 years working experience working in manufacturing or other related industry

TRANSPORTER-DRIVER- Mid-Day Shift (2pm-10pm)

POSITION SUMMARY:
The transporter-driver will deliver finished products to and from the plant to warehouse in refrigerated truck. Must be able to load, unload and stag and organized load on truck for delivery using both a pallet jack on truck and forklift. Maintain professional relationship with production team and warehouse personnel through the delivery cycle of our products. Will perform other warehouse and plant duties such as staging, cling wrapping, storing and ensuring all production product is accounted for whether using a tablet or device to maintain inventory of material/product being deliver to and from plant and warehouse.

TRANSPORTER-DRIVER REQUIREMENTS:

• Load truck accurately and safely for delivery run to and from plant and warehouse
• Unload truck as needed at plant and or warehouse.
• Drive company vehicle or lease truck to make product deliveries.
• Perform vehicle inspection as required. Maintain presentable truck appearance, cleaning as needed.
• Take inventory of products, and report all counts via tablets and internet connection.
• Perform warehouse duties such as staging, cling wrapping of boxes,
• Engage with production supervisors and warehouse teammember in ensuring all product is accounted for
• Ensure all products and materials from warehouse are accounted for and properly stored, disposed of waste products accordingly
• Drive forklift to load and unload products as needed

Information Technology & ERP Specialist

Mama Lola’s Tortillas, a manufacturer of authentic tortillas, wraps and chips, is in search of an experienced IT professional to fill the position of ERP & Information Systems Specialist.  The desired candidate will play an integral role in maintaining and improving the company’s existing IT platform to ensure proper functionality and cohesive performance across all platforms.  In addition, this position will be responsible for identifying, implementing and maintaining a new ERP system, with further responsibilities for the Company’s growing IT infrastructure needs.  This role reports to the Executive Vice President.

PURPOSE

The IT Specialist will immediately play an integral role in working with our software and service providers in streamlining our IT platforms to function at peak efficiency.  In addition, the IT Specialist will provide daily enterprise-wide server and desktop administration tasks and provide support for enterprise systems and services on the QuickBooks and Microsoft Windows Server platforms, including but not limited to LaceUp, and E-Processing as well as the SQL Server in either local or cloud/hosted environments.

Daily tasks include installing, upgrading and monitoring servers, personal computers, software and hardware and managing/programming managed data switches, routers, and wireless controllers and access points. The IT Specialists will maintain the essentials such as operating systems, business applications, security tools, web-servers, email, laptop, and desktop PCs.

In addition, this role will oversee the implementation, maintenance and ongoing development of an ERP system new to the Company.  This individual will project manage and advise on best practices for the effective and efficient implementation of an ERP, while simultaneously becoming a subject matter expert in the content and tools necessary to maintain and maximize its capabilities.  On a longer-term basis, this individual will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the Company’s information technology.  The ideal candidate will have experience with ERP implementation project management, specifically with ProcessPro or similar type systems, and will have sufficient experience to maintain and operate an ever-growing IT infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • This candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and optimization of the Company’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network design components.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering or related field preferred. Consideration for equivalent combination of education.
  • PMP or PMI Certification and proven project management experience
  • Requires 5 years of prior work experience with information technology
  • Prior ERP system implementation experience (3+ years) preferred
  • Proven experience learning business quickly and in a team environment
  • Strong Microsoft Office applications knowledge
  • Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles technologies and business functions

Quality Assurance Specialist

SUMMARY

Quality Assurance Specialist oversees operations in the Quality department. The QA Specialist will monitor the facility operation to ensure compliance requirements, SQF, GMP’s food safety, Document Control and all other such standards of the plant. S/he will collaborate and work with the production team to assure that proper checks are in place and communicate on a regular [daily] basis regarding results. Will be accountable to training, preparing for audits, documenting results in record keeping database.  The QA Specialist is responsible for partnering with the rest of the organization to consistently supply products that exceed customer and consumer expectation. This position reports to the Production Manager and in their absence will be report to the COO and/or QA Lead or designee.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Review daily activities to ensure conformance to specifications.
  2. Monitors and guarantee that products are being manufactured in conformance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety Practices. Provides training and support; as well as enforcement to the Food Safety Program.
  3. Monitors Plant Quality System requirements
  4. Conducted random Analysis for product weight, appearance, flavor, formulation, etc.
  5. Conducted daily visual Food Safety Inspection during the shift.
  6. Assist team when Quality Issues arise
  7. Provide consistent & uniform communication with all departments
  8. Supports the daily activities of the employees and assures the proper training in Safety, Food Safety and Quality System.
  9. Assist in special projects and generates summary.
  10. Support in Safety Program and corrective actions
  11. Review and update work aids (procedures, Forms, programs, manuals).
  12. Will strongly support Food Safety, SQF, AIB, FSMA, other Programs
    • Ensure the integrity of the SQF system
    • Ensure the integrity of Document Control
    • Communicate to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF system.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  2. Quality Assurance Experience
  3. 1-3 or more years as a Quality Technician in food industry or similar technician roles or equivalent combination of education and experience
  4. Knowledge in Good Manufacturing Practices.
  5. Working knowledge of HCCP standards and SQF experience is highly preferred.
  6. Computer Literacy, Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel,Outlook).
  7. Effective communication skills to include reading, writing, and understand team members Spanish language and or instructions
  8. Must have a high aptitude for mathematics to include but not limited to simple math calculations, conversion rates (lbs, g-oz) and creating and or using formulas to compute rates.
  9. Must be available to work on weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
  10. Bilingual (Spanish/English) Required
