The Facilities Maintenance Technician is an important member of the maintenance team as we continue to enhance our production capability while maintaining and updating existing and new equipment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Further develop the existing Preventative Maintenance program and Inventory control for the production lines. Follow manufacturer instructions and setup and follow PM schedules for existing and new equipment • Assist in hands-on Electrical and Mechanical machine components repair and troubleshooting for production line to reduce downtime. • Perform weekly, monthly, and annual PMs to ensure safe and optimum operating conditions for equipment. • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant equipment, facility structures, grounds and utilities • Be able to perform any necessary demo and facility improvement works involving construction and basic electrical and plumbing • The technician will be required to assist vendors in new production line installations and servicing to enhance personal knowledge of the equipment and reduce cost to the company for future servicing needs JOB QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • 5 to 7 years of applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience • 1+ years as a Maintenance Technician in the food industry preferred • Forklift experience required • Must be flexible with work hours and be able to work overtime and weekends when needed • Knowledge in Good Manufacturing Practices JOB SKILLS • Mechanically and electrically inclined • Computer literacy is a must to be able to type out and fill forms and use MS word and excel • Strong work ethic • Desire to learn • Show initiative and ability to improvise • Able to work independently without direct supervision • Flexibility/adaptability to change • Regular and reliable attendance • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • Must have ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine • Ability to read and understand information presented orally and in writing • Regularly required to utilize vision abilities, allowing reading of printed material, drawings, and schematics
